Why Should I Replace the Decking for My Roof?
The OSB Decking on your home support the heavy shingles on the roof and protects the interior of your home from the outside elements. Occasionally the decking becomes rotten from leaks that have occurred in the past or present. When the decking becomes rotted it can create a dip in your roof line, promote the growth of mold in your attic, loss of structural integrity, and delaminated. When delaminating occurs, the materials attached to it will no longer stick to it like it once was. You may notice missing shingles or exposed flashing when this happens causing issues in the roofing system.
What is the Installation Process for Decking Replacement?
For areas of decking that are to be replaced, we must first remove the shingles, underlayment, and finally the decking. Once the decking has been removed we will nail in the OSB, add new underlayment, and finally install new shingles to the area.
